Black Student Achievement provides a variety of workshops and individual leadership initiatives to ensure students’ success and development.
Black Student Achievement Presidents’ Council
Black Student Achievement coordinates a presidents’ council that consists of student leaders. These students meet monthly to discuss current and upcoming events, resources, collaborative programming efforts, membership recruitment and organizational development. The meetings serve to build a firm alliance between all the student leaders involved.
Black Student Leadership Institute
The Black Student Leadership Institute is a four-week series designed for students of color. Students engage in conversations and activities surrounding leadership development, cultural competence and racial and ethnic identity. While participating in the institute, students are connected to Georgia State alumni and acquire practical leadership skills that are attractive to student organizations and employers. Scholarships are awarded to students who complete the institute.
Black Men’s Dialogue
Black Men’s Dialogue, supported by Black Student Achievement and Counseling and Testing Center, is a space to discuss issues, create connections and explore community.

Hot Wings Hot Topics
Hot Wings Hot Topics is a bi-weekly discussion for faculty, staff and students to engage in hot topic conversations. Conversations are held the first and third Mondays of each month.
Black Student Achievement developed a toolkit to help students to develop their leadership skills.
One on One Leadership Sessions
Students who are looking to become involved on campus and grow their talents and skills as a student leader and need guidance on how to do both strategically can contact Black Student Achievement and schedule an appointment with the student affairs advisor. Together, the student affairs advisor and the student will craft a plan of action that is achievable and takes the student to the next level.
